Well-being is very important for overall health

Duden describes well-being as “good physical and mental health”. Generally Well-being is economic, physical and emotional well-being. In this article, we cover the topic of well-being on our health.

Health plays one of the most important roles when it comes to our well-being. Man can be so successful - if there is still room for improvement in the health chapter, go it's just not that good. On the other hand, a healthy lifestyle and a so-called "growth mindset" contribute positively to general well-being and even overshadow other factors such as status or financial position.

Why is wellbeing important? 

Well-being is important because it determines the overall quality of life. Guess who feels, does not only do his contentment a favor but also his Health. Factors that negatively affect well-being should therefore be avoided to stay healthy.

What influences our well-being?

These include stress, anxiety and being overwhelmed. But also others, less so obvious, factors include: prioritizing material achievements, neglecting social relationships, surrounding yourself with negative people making one's self-esteem dependent on external recognition, etc.

Even if it doesn't seem like it, these factors affect our well-being, then what
in turn, can lead to poor health. A good starting point is that we actively work towards “doing well”.

This is how we transform the negative cycle (low well-being - worse state of health - even less well-being) into a positive cycle (much well-being - good health - even more well-being).

  • Mental and physical health
  • Life expectancy
  • Healthy habits
  • Self-perceived health

This is how you can actively do something for better well-being:

  • Relax and minimize stress
  • Maintain social contacts
  • Learning or expressing creativity
  • Meditate or journal
  • Spending time in nature
  • Get enough sleep and exercise
  • Set goals that bring fulfilment
  • A balanced diet
